What's your favorite coloring material?
Gah, this is one of the hardest things to answer for me. And believe me, I still haven't found the perfect one after many years of searching. For me, there are many criteria to consider.
1. The perfect coloring material can make consistent lines.
To explain this one in the easiest possible way, I'm going to use an example that ULTIMATELY BREAKS THIS CRITERION. (Naks, singular form ng criteria. :> ) CRAYONS cannot do this. I hate crayons. They suck. Really. Boo, crayons. I hope all crayons die. Even Crayola Twistables which are nice looking, but are just EXPENSIVE CRAYONS in PLASTIC CASES. Crayons can't write for crap. Unless you press hard, they will never make consistent lines. NO, I AM NOT JUST BAD AT USING CRAYONS. HOW DARE YOU ACCUSE ME. >:(
Ugly crayon lines. INCONSISTENT.
So there. I don't like seeing white lines or spots on the things I draw.
2. The perfect coloring material is portable and can be used pretty much anywhere.
You shouldn't need water and old newspapers when using them. Just bring your set, and you can start coloring immediately. This means no more sharpening as well. The perfect coloring material is handy! ;)
3. The perfect coloring material isn't messy.
Your hands won't look like you just sliced the stomach of a frog which just ate a rainbow cake open.
4. The perfect coloring material doesn't make you take 10 years to color a circle red.
Fine tips are pretty, but it'll take you ages to get anything done with them since they can't fill spaces up easily.
5. The perfect coloring material does not seep through the paper.
Water-based coloring materials just suck if the paper you use them on can't be used back-to-back anymore. Sayang yung other side eh. Especially if your designing your planner or notebook.
Let's see.
Crayo- NO, JUST NO.
KO'd at Rule 2 - Paint, Colored Pencils and Printer
KO'd at Rule 3 - Oil Pastel and Chalk
Not really coloring materials, but Glitters or Sand + Glue and Clay get killed here too.
KO'd at Rule 4 - Fineliners, Colored gel/ball pens and Colored Pencils
KO'd at Rule 5 - Colored Pens with broad sides
So... that leaves nothing that I can think of. No coloring material is perfect, sadly.
WHY? I will love the person who invents something to fulfill all my criteria FOREVER.
The perfect coloring material is yet to be discovered!
